Many residents of Ringwood are offended by excessive trash as well as sewage odors at the Fieldstone Shopping Center. We maintain the unsavory conditions at the plaza are at least partially responsible for the many vacant storefronts. We believe improved conditions will encourage resident and non-residents to shop in our town which would in turn create a welcoming and supportive environment for additional retail and service establishments.

Our Mission
Revitalize Ringwood seeks to encourage the restoration of Fieldstone Shopping Center to its former prominence as a center of community and economic activity. We maintain that, as our borough center, a well-maintained and healthy Fieldstone Shopping Center would:
-
Spur business development/encourage entrepreneurship
-
Increase the local tax base and keep dollars in the local economy
-
Create jobs and wages
-
Stimulate the housing market and increase property values
-
Increase occupancy rates
-
Draw investors
-
Rehabilitate empty buildings
-
Reflect the character and history of the community
-
Promote civic pride and community well-being
-
Utilize existing infrastructure
-
Increase community involvement
-
Reaffirm commitment and inspire involvement from local leaders
We seek to develop a conversation and eventual partnership between residents, the borough, and property managers to improve conditions at the center.

Our Motivation
Our Plans
-
The short term aim of Revitalize Ringwood is to demonstrate to Azarian Group that we care about our town and want to work with them to improve the Fieldstone Shopping Center
-
We believe that they have never communicated publicly any specific goals or plans for the center or acknowledged the current low level of maintenance and vacancy rates
-
Through mobilizing local support and then getting press interest in this, we hope to bring the Azarian Group to a public meeting in November to talk to us and provide more context and explanation.
-
Simultaneously we are approaching the town to get their input and an understanding of their thoughts and proposals.
-
We appreciate that there are complexities involved here - from the Highlands Act to the challenges of Skyline Drive access but truly believe that Ringwood can maintain and support a viable shopping center - given the chance
-
Community or grass roots activation can be a powerful force : and Ringwood has the strength and passion to drive this
